The Running of the Fools: Ragnar Niagara

There’s something to be said about Fools who put core values to work during times of challenge, both in life and at work. While long-distance, overnight running competitions probably aren’t for everyone, Ragnar competitions seem to embody the Motley spirit. Comprised of trail loops and running courses located “in the most breathtaking places in the world,” Fools have collaborated over Ragnar competitions since the 2009 inaugural D.C. race. Our wellness program covers registration fees for one Ragnar team per year, excluding individual transportation and food.

Athletes from across the company trained to take on Ragnar Niagara, which kicked off in Cobourg, Canada on May 19. Over the next night and day, team The Running of the Fools ran 189.9 miles across Lake Ontario and Toronto in a time of 24:09:59 (that’s an average pace of 7:38/mi)!

Ragnar Niagara finished at Niagara Falls, where 150,000 gallons of water flow each second. Our Foolish team earned 5th place overall and 1st place in the Corporate division – by a margin of 2h 13 minutes! Congrats to The Running of the Fools for exhibiting such collaboration, competitiveness, and dedication – and even some fun along the way!
