Morehead-Cain Scholars are longtime staples of The Motley Fool’s summer internship program. As the first U.S. merit-based scholarship, the Morehead-Cain experience is rooted in values reminiscent of the Fool’s: leadership, character, scholarship, and physical vigor. In honor of our co-founder David Gardner, a proud UNC alumni and Morehead-Cain scholar himself, one internship is reserved every summer for a Morehead-Cain applicant. The Motley Fool is actually hosting two students from UNC Chapel-Hill this summer – who didn’t know each other before starting!
Ellie Teller is our sole Morehead-Cain intern for 2017. A soon-to-be senior at UNC Chapel-Hill, Ellie is pursuing a double major in Journalism (PR and Advertising) and Communication (Media Production) with a Creative Writing Minor.
Ellie is part of the Motley Fool Wealth team; our sister company still located at FoolHQ. Focusing on the customer experience, Ellie’s intern responsibilities include emailing members; conducting surveys; forming focus groups; and partnering with other Fools to craft new web copy. “Collaborative” is Ellie’s Motley value because she enjoys “learning the different ways others approach tasks and bouncing ideas off of and with other people!”
In her spare time, Ellie enjoys making documentaries, surfing, sailing, and learning how to cook.
