Investing in the Individual Employee

When I decided my personal Motley would be “Keep Learning” over five years ago, I didn’t realize how much the saying would apply to life as a Fool. Our Learning & Development program continuously budgets money for external educational opportunities, and even I had the chance to attend INBOUND2016 in Boston last November. Other teams will be representing the Fool at upcoming events like WistiaFest, LeaderSurf, and CMX Summit.

“The Employee Experience: Culture, Engagement, & Beyond” was listed at number 4 on Deloitte’s 2017 Global Human Capital Trends report. The Motley Fool’s Chief People Team collaborates to help Fools feel connected, informed, and happy so, over the last few days, our People Officer Lee Burbage has been learning about just that at WorkHuman in Phoenix, Arizona. A roster of impressive speakers (including Lee himself!) have been exploring how companies can create the “best work experiences” for employees. Lee rocked the stage, as covered on WorkHuman’s live blog.

No matter if you attended WorkHuman or not, Lee’s insight on “Investing in the Individual” is worth sharing. Click here to view the full PowerPoint presentation deck from May 30, 2017.

  1. Continued learning has definitely keep me on my toes and happier in my job. I wish more employers embraced that as part of their culture and budgets. ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, see your team at CMX Summit!
