Earlier this week we hosted an event along with Namely at Fool HQ. HR and employee development professionals from more than 50 companies in the DC metro area joined us for breakfast and to share best practices around building great places to work.
The ideas were inspiring and the Play-Doh sculpting was something to behold. (You had to be there. Seriously.)
Kara Chambers, who leads Organizational Development and Insight, shared how The Motley Fool uses five types of conversations to drive engagement and align individuals, managers, and team members. You can check out Kara’s deck here.
At The Motley Fool we even created our own software to help us organize and track these conversations. We call it FoolWorks, and it includes tools to manage employee development, 360 feedback, and check-ins. (If you want to learn if FoolWorks could help drive performance and engagement at your company, email Greg Martz)
Lee Burbage—who heads up our People Team—was later joined on stage by leaders from CustomInk, Evolent Health, Silverback Strategies and StoryBlocks. They shared their philosophies that have made these companies some of the best places to work in the world, let alone DC.
A huge thanks to Jessica Leiser and Christine Eden from CustomInk, Dave Thornton from Evolent Health, Neil Welsh of Silverback Strategies, and Ashley Sansing from StoryBlocks for joining us on stage and sharing their experiences, challenges, and successes. And of course thanks to Namely for bringing us all together.
If you were unable to join us for this event, the good news is that we host a tour of Fool HQ the first Friday of every month. We hope to see you soon!
